Episcopal Housing Alliance
EHA was created by the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles to develop community-based partnerships with public and private agencies to meet the increasing need for a wide range of affordable housing for low and moderate-income individuals and families.
In partnership with the Institute for Urban Initiatives (formerly the Institute for Urban Research and Development, EHA has developed a wide-range of successful housing programs now operated by other private agencies in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties that have included:
Homeless prevention
Emergency shelter
Transitional housing
Permanent supportive housing and
Permanent affordable housing
These programs serve thousands of individuals and families, and represent a history of flourishing partnerships with numerous private agencies and local jurisdictions including Glendale, Huntington Beach, Pomona, Long Beach, Riverside, Pasadena, Redondo Beach, Costa Mesa and San Bernardino.
Community Housing Management Services
CHMS was founded to encourage and assist in the operation and preservation of low income housing. It is dedicated to providing the highest quality property management services and developing professional, respectful, and caring relationships with those its serves: residents, owners, the community, and its coworkers.
CHMS is a California nonprofit corporation, founded in 1986 as an outreach of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles to encourage and assist in the development, operation, and preservation of low income housing for seniors, people with disabilities, emancipated foster youth, and families. CHMS provides property and financial management and consulting services for apartments and manufactured homes.

Task Force on Hunger and Homelessness
This task force is administered by the Peace and Justice Commission and encourages partnerships between individuals, parishes and various social service organizations to ensure that people within our six-county diocese are adequately fed and housed. The following list is not exhaustive but provides a starting point in each county for groups and individuals seeking to find food for those in need.
Los Angeles County: Los Angeles Regional Foodbank-a community-based non-profit organization-provides food and related resources to more than 750 charities serving the needy. For groups and charities only; sites must apply and be approved as designated food distribution site. *

Los Angeles County: St. Barnabas Senior Services, a diocesan institution, provides meals to older adults at locations around the central city. For information, phone 213.388.4444.

Santa Barbara: Food Bank of Santa Barbara County secures and provides food for 144 non-profit agencies and 31,000 county residents. Operates Mobile Food Pantry and Senior Brown Bag Program throughout the county.* Phone: 805.967.5741
