The Bishop's Guild
The Bishop’s Guild is primarily concerned with the spiritual and financial welfare of seminarians from this diocese who are studying for Holy Orders. Our responsibility is to inspire, encourage, and recruit dedicated people to study for the sacred ministry.
It is through prayers and gifts that we support our seminarians today, and provide the church’s priests and bishops of tomorrow. Some of the seminarians are married, with families, and some are older and have left business positions. Some are young people without sufficient means to complete their studies. It is through your prayers and gifts that we can help meet their needs.
The Bishop’s Guild is a diocesan organization of clergy, clergy spouses, laymen and laywomen, and church organizations. The Bishop of the Diocese is President of the Guild. Everyone is encouraged to join.
How You Can Help
Extend your prayers for the sacred ministry and for our seminarians. The Bishop’s Guild makes few demands on your time. However, this can be a rewarding experience, both for you (or your group) and your seminarian. As a befriender, you are encouraged to write, send cards, send news of your parish, and show an active interest in his or her future, family, and hopes. In short, let your seminarian know you care, warmly and often.
Call the diocesan office at 800.366.1536 for a referral to the appropriate chairman.

The Diocesan Altar Guild meets regularly on Th
ursdays at the Cathedral Center. Guild members are available for consultation with representatives of local altar guilds within the congregations of the diocese.
The Diocesan Guild also completes a variety of projects serving bishops, the Cathedral Center, and the wider diocese. Vestment design, repair and teaching are among the guild's areas of expertise.
The Diocesan Altar Guild also hosts an annual meeting and occasional workshops. New volunteers are always welcome to visit and to join the Diocesan Altar Guild.
