World Mission Group
The World Mission Group (WMG), by direction of Diocesan Convention, extends the ministry of the Diocese of Los Angeles beyond the borders of the United States through cooperative efforts with other Provinces of the Anglican Communion. With a particular focus on youth, theological education for laity and clergy, and transformational journey the WMG strives to deepen cultural understanding and further the spiritual and material development of God’s people.
We are specifically charged with the nurture and oversight of Companion Diocesan relationships. The Diocese of Los Angeles is presently engaged in companion efforts together with the Diocese of Belize, the Diocese of El Salvador, the Diocese of Jerusalem, and the Diocese of Mexico. Episcopalians who desire involvement with work pertaining to one or more of our Companion Dioceses’ may contact the Chair of WMG for additional information.
The World Mission Group is also committed to increasing understanding within the Diocese of Los Angeles of the importance of shared international efforts for the strengthening of Christ’s Church. World Mission Sunday materials (observed throughout the Episcopal Church on the Last Sunday after Epiphany), topical speakers, Lenten Studies, supplemental liturgical prayer lists and other resources are available upon request.
